Google and Telegram face new fines of up to 4 million rubles. due to prohibited information

The Magistrates’ Court in Moscow will consider the next protocols against Google and Telegram, again convicted of refusing to delete prohibited information including myfreemp3.

As Interfax was told in the Tagansky court of Moscow, the administrative protocols against the companies were received on November 2 by the magistrate’s court N422 of the Tagansky District.

Both Google and Telegram are charged with non-deletion of the relevant content (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation). Thus, both services as legal entities face punishment in the form of a fine from 800 thousand to 4 million rubles.

The Telegram protocol will be considered on November 18, a hearing on the Google case has not yet been scheduled.

The largest Internet services – Google, Telegram Facebook, Twitter, TikTok – have been repeatedly prosecuted in Russia for not removing prohibited content.

According to Roskomnadzor, the services, among other things, did not delete or untimely deleted calls for minors to participate in unauthorized protests.

The amount of fines against companies already amounts to several tens of millions of rubles.
